North Carolina Slot Machine Ownership

North Carolina residents are only permitted by law to own slotNorth Carolina Slots machines that are at least 25 years old. These are considered collectibles or antiques, which the state does not have a problem with. Any slot machines that are newer than this are prohibited by the state of North Carolina. Obviously, if you are a resident who is interested in slots, this is one law that you will want to keep in mind.

North Carolina Casinos

At this time, there is only one casino in the entire state of North Carolina that offers slot machine gambling; Harrah’s Cherokee Casino and Hotel. Despite the fact that many have to drive a long way to reach this establishment, they make the trip anyway. After all, if you live in the state and want to gamble, Harrah’s is your only option until the state decides to make a change. And for now, there is no reason to think that this will happen.

Even though the state does have one casino, there is no gambling agency that oversees its activities. Instead, Harrah’s tribal casino is in charge of making sure that they stay legal at all times. Obviously, the state of North Carolina has laws that govern what this establishment can and cannot do.

North Carolina Lottery

The state of North Carolina does offer a lottery for those who are interested in this type of gambling. And since there are not many places to gamble in other ways, the state lottery has become quite popular. In fact, North Carolina has made sure that a large percentage of revenue generated by the lottery goes into the state’s educational programs. This is a great idea because it affords residents the ability to gamble, while also putting the money towards a good cause.

North Carolina is not as strict as many states when it comes to owning slot machines. But on the other side of things, they do not have a lot to offer when it comes to in-state gambling establishments.
