Living in New Mexico means that you have to abide by their laws on owning
slot machines. At this time, residents can only own a slot machine if it is
at least 25 years old. These are considered antique or collectible; anything
newer than this is not permitted by New Mexico state laws. New Mexico Casinos
Even though residents cannot own newer slot machines, they have the ability to

heading to one of the approximately 20 casinos in the state that offer slot

Legalized gambling in the state is regulated by the New Mexico Gaming Control
Board. They have their hands full as they are responsible for all legalized
gambling at licensed racetracks and other organizations. Additionally, the
control board is also responsible for overseeing the many Tribal Gaming locales
in the state as well.
There are two other departments that also watch over particular types of gaming
in the state. They include the Alcohol and Gaming Division which is responsible
for raffles and bingo. Horseracing in the state is regulated by the New Mexico

games, New Mexico also has a state lottery. This is regulated on its own by the
New Mexico Lottery.
