Nebraska Slots Ownership

There are only a few states that do not allow residents to own anyNebraska Slots type of slot machine, new or used. And guess what? Nebraska is one of those states. They do not legally allow residents to own newer slot machines, or those that could be considered an antique or collectible. This is a strict law, but one that the state feels strongly about.

Nebraska Casinos

At this time, there are no casinos in the state of Nebraska that offer residents the ability to legally bet on slot machines. So as you can see, it appears that the state is pretty much against slot machines for the most part. Not only do they prohibit residents from owning them, but they also do not offer slots in casinos. With that being said, there are four “casino like” establishments in the state. They offer keno and bingo, but stop short of offering slot machines and other common casino games. Even though these venues do not offer a large number of games, they draw in a lot of people who are simply trying to get their gambling fill, while hopefully winning some money at the same time.

Nebraska Charitable Gaming Division

The Nebraska Charitable Gaming Division is responsible for overseeing lotteries, raffles, bingo, and every other type of gaming. With the lack of slot machines and other casino games, this division does not have it nearly as tough as they could.

Additionally, the state of Nebraska does have a lottery. Again, since the state lacks other types of gambling, the lottery has become very popular.

Although there have not been any talks as of late, there is a chance that Nebraska could change their stance on slot machines and gambling in general sometime in the future. But for now, residents are not allowed to own slot machines, and will have to travel to a neighboring state if they are interested in legally playing them at a casino.
