At this time, only those that are older than 25 years of age are legal for residents to own. These are considered antique or collectible by the state. Gambling in Montana

Believe it or not, Montana is one of the biggest states in the country when it comes to gambling. A lot of people would never believe this because they think of Montana as a state that is more open land and less commercialized. But contrary to popular belief, Montana really knows how to have a good time when it comes to casino gaming. There are more than 50 casinos throughout Montana that offer gambling of all types; including slot machines. This makes it easy for most residents to find an establishment close to home.

With so many casinos to regulate, the Montana Gaming Control Division is always busy. They are in charge of overseeing all gambling in the state including Indian casinos of which there are many.

Other Gambling in Montana

There are only two types of gambling that the Montana Gaming Control Division is not responsible for: horse racing and the lottery. The Board of Horse Racing is in charge of everything that has to do with this form of betting. And the Montana Lottery functions separately from the other gambling departments within the state.

Even though there are 50 or so large casinos in the state, the Montana Gaming Control Division is responsible for overseeing more than 1,600 gambling licenses. As you can imagine, this can be a trying task but one that they successfully deal with.

Montana may be a bit strict when it comes to residents owning slot machines, but they are anything but that concerning the overall gaming scene within the state.
