Owning a California Slot Machine
There are only a few states that have made it illegal to own a slot machine;
one of them being
California. In order for a resident to legally own a slot
machine in California, the machine must be at least 25 years old. In other
words, it is illegal owning a California Slot Machine that is new or
modern. While this law may sound a bit silly, it is one that California is very
serious about. Luckily, this law does not prohibit the ownership of antique slot
machines which are quite popular.
California Casinos and Resorts
Even though newer slot machines cannot be owned by residents of California,
there are plenty of establishments that legally offer the ability to play these
games. In fact, there are over 30 casinos and resorts across the state of
California that offers slots.
The California Gambling Control Commission is responsible for overseeing all of
the establishments that offer slot machine gambling. Additionally, they also
manage the poker rooms and Indian casino operations that are popular in the
state of California. One of their main duties is to ensure that the Indian
casinos do not have more gaming devices than allowed by the law.
Additionally, the state also has a Division of Gambling Control that is always
hard at work. Their responsibilities include conducting background checks, and
dealing with licenses and work permits. By working side by side with the
California Gambling Control Commission, both departments have the ability to do
the best job possible.
The state lottery in California is the largest in the United States. This
lottery is open to anybody 18 years of age or older.
Even though the state of California does not allow residents to own slot
machines, they are open when it comes to other forms of gambling. This is
evident by the many casinos, poker rooms, and the state lottery. As gambling
becomes more and more popular among residents of California, so will the number
of establishments that legally offer games such as slot machines.
