Alaska Slot Machines
Alaska is one of the less strict states when it comes to slot machines and an
overall view on gambling. In the state of Alaska you do not need a license to
own a Alaska slot machine. This holds true both for modern day machines
as well as those that could be considered antique. When compared to other
states, this is seen as quite lenient. But even though you can own a slot
machine, it does not mean that you have the ability to set up an illegal
gambling ring. There are still rules and regulations that must be followed when
it comes to what is legal and what is not.
Alaska Gaming Establishments
At this time, there are no establishments in Alaska that offer slot machines.
In fact, the gambling industry in this state is pretty much relegated to the
game of bingo. Even though bingo is popular in other states, in Alaska it is the
leader of the pack. There have been many talks of casinos coming to the state of
Alaska in the near future. Of course, before this can happen all the details
must be signed off on by the proper state and government officials. While there
is no way of saying for sure if this will happen, most believe that it is only a
matter of time.
Not only can you get in trouble in Alaska for illegal gambling, but promoting
this type of activity can also land you in hot water. In fact, there are two
separate offenses for this. They are known as promoting gambling in the first
degree, and promoting gambling in the second degree. In the first degree, this
is a class C felony. In the second degree, it is known as a class A misdemeanor.
Obviously, both of these are easy to avoid as long as you do not get tied up
with illegal gambling.
If you live in Alaska and are not sure what is legal, you will want to check
with the appropriate sources before moving on. After all, it is not worth it to
chance getting in trouble with the authorities. Even though Alaska may be loose
on their restrictions on owning a slot machine, they still enforce the gambling
laws that are in place.
