Tahoe Biltmore Lodge & Casino
The Tahoe Biltmore Lodge & Casino is located on Highway 28 in Crystal Bay, directly across from two of the more "local" spots in the Lake Tahoe area - the Crystal Bay Club and John Kelley's Tahoe Nugget.
There are over 300 gaming machines, and a lot of them are state-of-the-art slots that carry a familiar theme. For example, you've got the Elvis slot, the Jeopardy slot, the Addams Family slot, the Wheel of Fortune slot. There are 40 nickel slots, 63 penny slots, 76 quarter slots, 48 dollar slots and 13 five-dollar slots, so it is obvious that there is a slot machine that can accommodate anyone's level of play.
The table games are not so plentiful. There are ten conventional blackjack
tables, in addition to one table that conducts the Spanish 21 variation.
There is a conventional craps table, as well as Double Odds Craps, and one
roulette table. Clearly the action is driven by the slot games and video
poker, and the casino is not particularly sizable - a little more than
10,000 square feet. There are slot tournaments conducted on a weekly basis,
and the Tahoe Biltmore seemingly always has one promotion or another cooked
up. Examples include Senior Day, which takes place every Monday, and Secret
Slot Play, which happens every Wednesday and Friday.
However, that's not to say that's all there is. The Tahoe Biltmore also offers a full-featured race and sports book, and regularly has promotions surrounding it.
The lodge features 95 standard rooms and eighteen suites. The suites are priced up to $189, and as low as $139 a night. The standard rooms can be had for as low as $69. All of the rooms have HBO, hair dryers and wireless internet access available. There is an outdoor spa, swimming pool and RV parking available as well.
Two restaurants are available - the Cafe Biltmore is home to the Sunday Brunch buffet ($9.95 a person), prime rib specials ($9.95 as well) and a 100% certified Angus burger they take great pride in, and Conrad's is the primary location for steaks and seafood. At The Breeze, the nightclub on premises, the Tahoe Biltmore plays host to entertainment every weekend of the year. Happy hour takes place seven days a week with $1 domestic beers and $1 well drinks. Tuesday food specials include a $1.99 breakfast.
This is probably one of the better facilities when it comes to meeting and convention facilities, and certainly has the jump on most of its neighbors in Crystal Bay. The Tahoe Biltmore features about 6400 square feet of meeting space, and they do a lot of wedding business, whether it's at the indoor chapel or in the Grand Ballroom. There are ski packages available, starting from as low as $54 per person, and also, guests can avail themselves of free parking and shuttle service to and from the slopes.
This is perhaps the location on the North Shore that best combines the qualities of class, accommodation and value, They call their place "Best Value on the Lake" and they may be right!
